To fully experience a movie it must have a good clean picture and great sound. The sound should make you feel as if your in the movie. The movie should not sound as if the effects are forced. They should sound natural. Surround effects should not be overdone, they should be used sparingly but at the right time.

Both Dolby Laboratories and DTS have done an absolutly phenomenal job with the new sound fields Dolby Digital (Surround) EX and DTS ES. Both offer up to 7.1 tracks of audio for a movie. DTS ES is available in 2 flavors, Discrete and Matrix.
